In a typical ganzfeld experiment, a person is placed in a room relaxing in a comfortable position with halved ping-pong balls over the eyes and a red light shone on them. They also wear a set of headphones through which white noise (static) is played. This person is in this state of mild sensory deprivation to help elicit paranormal phenomenon.
