AUX SABLE CEMETERY
Minooka, IL
November 27, 2011
HISTORY
Aux Sable Cemetery, located between Minooka and Morris, Illinois, was once hunting grounds for the Pottawatomie Indians. The good sized cemetery mostly consists of 1800s plots but there are newer gravestones, as well. The cemetery is surrounded by woods and the Aux Sable Creek flows by it.
CLAIMS
Mysterious fires, car doors locking, mists, tunnels under caretaker's building, one of which is a gate to hell, apparition of young girl, and satantic rituals performed are some of the claims. There are claims of a "Satanist path". This hiking path goes through the woods and ends on Route 6. Supposedly satanic rituals have been performed at the cemetery after dark.
I came across a woman who claims to have discovered a tombstone of a girl, Adeline Stevenson, who died in 1853. This tombstone was found at a school but was thought to belong to Aux Sable Cemetery and was eventually returned to the plot next this girl's brother. Could this be the same apparition that is seen? Read the article here. I came across this information after we had already been to the cemetery. I went back over my photos and discovered there was indeed a headstone for this girl.

One of our clients told us she went to the cemetery and while driving over the bridge the manual door locks locked themselves.
EVIDENCE
We have been to Aux Sable Cemetery twice. The most recent trip was on a cold and dreary day. We took numerous pictures, conducted an EVP session in the caretaker's building but did not catch any evidence. I searched the inside and outside of this building for any sign of a tunnel entrance but did not find anything. The building has graffiti all over it. We did notice a path going through the woods on the far end of the cemetery but did not venture down it as there were many no trespassing signs.
Our first trip to the cemetery was on a warm, cloudless afternoon in the middle of summer. We caught one interesting picture of Joey between two headstones with a mist on either side of him.

TIPS
Aux Sable Cemetery is on private property. There are numerous no trespassing signs. Because of this, I am not posting directions. Investigate at your own risk. The police are known to patrol and look for trespassers, especially at night and around Halloween.
