The one thing that was repeated, even after he truly believed the activity wasn't faked, was the fact that he mentions over and over the victims could not have thrown that lego or moved that furniture. This bugged me at first but not enough to put down this fascinating read of a rare, documented poltergeist. Then I soon realized would you believe these claims even after witnessing them for yourself? Mr. Playfair does an excellent job attempting to debunk every paranormal claim until he finally comes to the conclusion, this family is not faking the terrible ordeal they are forced to deal with. I felt exhausted for them just reading the turmoil they were put through.
There are some very extraordinary photos in the middle of the book and tips on what to do if you experience a poltergeist at the end. I hope you never have to use this advice.
I rate This House is Haunted - The Investigation into the Enfield Poltergeist three aliens heads, only because the author's attempt to accurately document these trials does feel monotonous, but this is a true story not a book of fiction.
